ReplyDeleteI relocated to Charlotte from New York in May. My son & I was at Speed Street May 27 and had a nice time. It was unbelievable what happen on the 28th. Where was the police? It reminded me the way New Year's Eve use to be about 15 years ago.

ReplyDeleteThe kids of color in this city have no where t go and just hang out. Every mall, park, ect just kicks them out because they are afraid. It's not fair.It's bad that things like this occur but this is the reason why they come out during these events, uptown used to be the only place that black people can meet up without police with Ak47s. Even tho this is really a white event..with nascar and all. Its fun just to see everyone come out and support the city.too bad bad things had to happen.

Yet, these nogs wonder why there is such a thing as "white flight" with whites using codewords (the PC ones anyway) about "crime" and "better schools".

I did go back to Charlotte recently to see my grandparents' graves. Went by their old neighborhood off Freedom Dr. and it's gone from a nice, clean middle class place to a hood with loitering "youfs", trash all over the place and etc.
I don't miss Charlotte and I am glad I left.
